On this food adventure, I went to tour the San Miguel Market in Madrid, Spain. This is a great place to visit, sampling some of the best Madrid's market food has to offer. After the market, I went to El Sur to eat gambas which is shrimp with garlic sauce, and I had some Cuban pulled pork. That pork was my favorite dish there. For dessert, I ate churros with hot chocolate, and this place was incredibly packed so get ready to wait in line! Add onions and bell pepper. Stir and cook for 1-2 minutes and then add jalapeno pepper. Stir and cook for 2-3 more minutes until veggies are tender.Add corn, minced garlic, s&p and lemon zest. Stir and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add thyme and stir. Next add flour. Stir and cook for 2 minutes to get rid of the flour taste. Slowly start adding your water. The broth will form and thicken slightly. Add milk and cream of shrimp. Stir. Add bay leaf and Cajun seasonings. Stir. Stir and bring up to heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Add potatoes and cook for 15-20 minutes until potatoes are tender.At the last 5 minutes add clams, clam juice and fish. Soak for just about 5 minutes. • Take the dal out into a blender pot and add water. • Blend well into fine paste. Transfer the batter into a pot. • Take rice and pohe in a blender pot and blend into a little coarse batter. • Take the rice batter out into the dal batter. • Take a whisk and mix well for about 4-5 minutes. • Cover and ferment the batter for 10-12 hours. • Add salt and mix well. • Take the idly stand and grease it well with oil. • Add the batter in each mould and leave some space for idly to puff up. • Arrange the idly in crisscross pattern. • It means idly in upper dish should come in between 2 lower idlies. • Add 1”water in idly cooker and put the idly pot in it. • Steam the idlies on medium heat for 20 minutes. • Let it rest for 5 minutes more. • Take the idly pot out of idly cooker and rest for 5 minutes more. • Take the idlies out. My name is Xiao Wei, ever since my Mother taught me how to cook at a early age, I have always had a strong passion for Cooking. My family still live in Inner Mongolia in the northern part of China, where I visit each year and pick-up new Asian/Chinese recipes.Serve this dish with poached egg or salad leaves. Ingredients: 450g Potatoes 4 Tbsp Plain Flour 2 Spring Onions 1 Tsp Ground White Pepper 1 Tbsp Sesame Seeds Salt to TasteMethod: 1. Finely chop the spring onions. 2. Grate the potatoes and place them into a large mixing bowl. 3. Add the spring onions, pepper, flour, sesame seeds and salt. Mix well. 4. Heat 2 Tbsp of oil in the frying pan. 5. Place 2 Tbsp of the potato mixture into the pan. 6. Apply pressure with a spoon to flatten into a pancake. 7. Fry on medium heat for 4 minutes each side until golden. 8. Repeat this process until all mixture is used. 9. Today I’m showing you how to make your own lip & cheek stain at home. These two-in-one cosmetics are my absolutely favorite, because who needs all the fuss, right? This is a super simple, super fun DIY you’re going to want to make year-round! Materials:2 tbsp of coconut oil // https://goo.gl/jXcDGw 1 tbsp beeswax pellets // https://goo.gl/dHgxSX ¼ tsp Vitamin E oil // https://goo.gl/uHXB4L ¼ – ½ tsp beet juice ¼ tsp eye shadow spoolie brush lip balm jarDirections: 1. Pour your beet juice through a piece of cheesecloth to remove any tiny bits of sediment 2. Place the coconut oil and beeswax in a microwave-save container and microwave for 1 minute or until the beeswax pellets have melted 3. Leave to cool for about 10 minutes, or until the mixture begins to set/get cloudy (it’s really important that you wait until the mixture thickens/sets because if it’s too hot and liquid-y, the beet juice will separate. 4. Add the Vitamin E oil and beet juice and mix vigorously with a popsicle stick or a teaspoon. If it does separate, wait a few minutes, and then mix vigorously again. 5. Spoon into little lip balm pots. You can find them online, or you can use an old pot or jar (but make sure you sterilize it by soaking it in just-boiled water for a couple of minutes. 6. If you want to have a little sheen or glitter in your tint, brush the spoolie brush across your eye shadow until you brush off about 1/4 tsp worth of powder. Add this to the just-mixed lip tint and mix really well before spooning into the pot. This is will give you the perfect highlight on your cheeks and lips.Storage: You can take your tint with you. But when not using, I recommend storing in a cool, dark spot.Shelf-life: Approx 3 months. But remember, as with anything that doesn’t contain a preservative, you are better off dipping a swab in the pot to apply because a finger dipping in and out of any jar might contaminate in bacteria. For a new twist on a classic convenience store treat, just add sprinkles and marshmallow frosting.INGREDIENTS: 2 large Eggs Large ¾ cup Granulated Sugar ½ cup Whole Milk 4 tbsp Salted Butter 2 tsp Vanilla Extract 1 cup All Purpose Flour 1 tsp Baking Powder ½ cup Sprinkles (not nonpareils, they will bleed into each other) 4 egg whites 1 cup sugar 1 tsp vanilla More Sprinkles for decoratingSTEPS: 1.) Spray a twinkie pan using some non-stick vegetable spray and preheat your oven to 350˚F. 2.) Combine the eggs and sugar in a large bowl and beat with an electric mixer or stand mixer until thick and pale colored, 5 minutes. 3.) Combine the milk and butter in a microwave safe bowl and melt until the mixture is smooth. Add the vanilla extract to the milk mixture. 4.) To the eggs, sift in the flour and baking soda. Then add the hot milk & butter mixture in a steady stream while mixing on low speed. 5.) Add the sprinkles and mix until just incorporated, don’t over mix or the twinkies will be chewy. 6.) Pour batter ½ way up each cavity of the pan and bake for about 8- 10 minutes or until a skewer inserted comes out clean. Let cool for 5 minutes in the pan and then remove and cool completely. 7.) For the marshmallow filling, place a medium bowl over a saucepan with simmering water and keep on a low heat. Combine the eggs and sugar in the bowl and mix using an electric mixer for 5 minutes or until the sugar is completely dissolved. You can check using your fingers to feel for remaining granules. Once no grains of sugar remain take the mixture off the pot and mix on high for about 5-6minutes until it is thick, glossy and stiff peaks form. Stir in the vanilla and then place into a piping bag. 8.) To fill the twinkies, poke holes through the centre using a straw or chopstick to make room for the icing. Stick the end of the piping bag in and fill completely. Drink Candles Candle Ice Cubes MATERIALS: Small pot Clear candle gel Silicone spatula Silicone square mold Cutting mat Knife INSTRUCTIONS 1. Place clear candle gel in a small pot and melt according to package instructions. 2. Carefully pour gel into square silicone molds. 3. Let gel cool to harden. 4. Remove harden gel from the mold. 5. Cut into squares to create “ice cubes” for the drink candles. Cola Candle MATERIALS: Pint glass Candle wick Hot glue Clothespin Melted candle gel Fragrance oil Amber candle dye INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Apply a small amount of hot glue to the base of a candle wick. 2. Place the candle wick in a pint glass. Push down the wick with a stick to secure it in place. 3. In a small pot combine melted candle gel, fragrance oil and amber candle dye. 4. Carefully pour candle mixture into pint glass. Fill up about ⅔ of the glass. Use a clothespin to hold the wick in place. 5. Add candle ice cubes to the glass. 6. Fill the rest of the glass with the melted candle mixture. 7. Let cool. 8. Trim the wick before using. Margarita Candle MATERIALS: White tealight Melted candle gel Margarita glass Candle wick Hot glue Fragrance oil Green candle dye Yellow candle dye INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Break a tealight in half and remove the wick. Cut the tealight into small pieces to resemble margarita salt. 2. Dip a margarita glass in melted candle gel to coat the rim of the glass. While the gel is still hot, dip the glass in the tealight bits to coat the rim of the glass. 3. Attach a wick to the center of the margarita glass. Secure with hot glue. 4. In a small pot combine fragrance oil, green candle dye and yellow candle dye. 5. Carefully pour the mixture into the margarita glass. Fill the glass ⅔ of the way. 6. Add candle ice cubes to the glass. 7. Fill the rest of the glass with the melted candle mixture. 8. Let cool. 9. Trim the wick before using. Beer Candle: MATERIALS: Melted candle gel Fragrance oil Amber candle dye Yellow candle dye Beer mug Candle wick Clothespin Hot glue Melted white candle wax Hand mixer INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Attach a wick to the base of a beer mug with hot glue. 2. In a small pot combine melted candle gel, fragrance oil, amber candle dye and yellow candle dye. 3. Carefully pour the candle mixture into the beer mug. Leave about half an inch at the top of the mug. Use a clothespin to hold the wick in the middle of the glass. 4. In a small mixing bowl pour out a small amount of melted white candle wax. You can melt down old tealights. Using a hand blender carefully whip the candle at a low speed, until the wax begins to cool and resemble drink foam. 5. Carefully spoon the foam candle wax to the top of the beer. Drizzle some foam to the side of the glass for added decoration. 6. Let cool. 7. Trim the wick before using. Tequila Sunrise Candle MATERIALS: Melted candle gel Fragrance oil Red candle dye Yellow candle dye Hurricane glass Candle wick Clothespin Hot glue White tealight INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Attach a wick to the base of a hurricane glass with hot glue. 2. In a small pot combine melted candle gel, fragrance oil and red candle dye. 3. Fill the hurricane glass about ⅓ of the way with the red candle mixture. 4. Add candle ice cubes to the glass until the glass is half full. Hold the wick in place with a clothespin. 5. In a small pot combine melted candle gel, fragrance oil, yellow candle dye and one white tealight. Remove the wick from the tealight before adding it to the mixture. Mix the wax until the tealight has fully melted into the mixture. 6. Carefully pour the yellow mixture into the hurricane glass. Fill the glass about ¾ of the way. Give glass a gentle stir. 7. Add candle ice cubes to the glass. 8. Fill the rest of the glass with the melted yellow candle mixture. 9. Let cool. 10. Trim the wick before using.
